General information

Our dorm is located at the edge of a pine forest between the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Sciences of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. It consists of five houses with 657 single apartments, 27 double apartments and 38 group living apartments. This means 749 students live in the dorm.

Operator

The dormitory is operated by the Studentenwerk Erlangen Nürnberg, a public institution. The Studentenwerk is solely responsible for allocating dormitory spaces. Residents and the Rommelwood e.V. association have no influence on the allocation of spaces. Therefore, we ask that you direct all inquiries regarding this matter exclusively to the Studentenwerk.

Name of the dorm - the Rommel

Our dorm is named after the Erwin-Rommel-Street - as is the naming custom of all dorms of the Studentenwerk. The short name is “Rommel”. That is why our parties are also promoted with the name of the dorm - “Rommel”. We have a large part of international students who are living here and we welcome everyone.

How you can spend your leisure time

There are lots of nice people and you can have much fun in your free time. You can sit together in the bar and think about all and sundry while drinking some beer, for example. Furthermore we organize big festivals (Rommelwood Summer Fest, Bronx) and offer billiard, table football, dart …
